6 Tips to get more exposure to your design business online

Ok, so there are many interesting reads online explaining ways to gain more online client interaction and I have read it all!! From my findings, I'm going to bullet point 6 key strategies that helped me grow my online following.

Start and be persistent - DON'T GIVE UP!

Ok, first things first, you have to make a start and once you have, don't stop! There is nothing more frustrating to me than people who are not getting quick results so simply give up. That is not the answer! Even if you are still there after many months getting low interaction, keep going! If you are consistent and and have great meaningful content then in time I assure you, it will pick up and it will be so worth it! Scheduling daily posts that you can and will stick to is key.

Celebrate every little success!

Honestly, I celebrated my first 10, 50 & 100 followers just as much as my 1000 , 2000 and so on! Don't set unrealistic targets and be honoured that people are following your work! Even if the number is low, these numbers are PEOPLE!! I myself am extremely thankful for every single follower I have and this is what keeps me going and provides me with a huge amount of motivation never to stop or give up!

Collaborate, Collaborate, Collaborate

Collaboration is one of the quickest way to expand your reach. Say you have 1,000 viewers and your collaborator has 1,000 then, well, I'll let you do the maths! But do understand this only works if you both share on all of your social media platforms with links to each others sites.

Advertise, Advertise, Advertise

There is no shame in asking people to advertise your page and endorse you, but do choose your advertisers carefully, there are lots of scams! Do you research and make this a priority.

Take advantage of Seasonal promotions

People love seasons. By creating occasional seasonal content with the best tags, you widen your reach spectacularly! Seasonal promotions and give aways are one of the best things you can do!

As many links as possible!

Personally I post on my Instagram, Facebook page, twitter and Pinterest. The more platforms feeding to my website the better. If you are already posting content on one platform, it really doesn't take much effort to post on a number of platforms. By doing this you widen your potential for:

- Collaboration opportunity- Some companies simply use one platform and if it's not the one you use then, TRA!

- Greater number of links on the web

- Greater chances of people searching and finding your work on google.
