Keep your Christmas tree green and healthy this year – The do’s and the definitely do not’s!

Now ideally you would go to the forest, find your own tree and chop it down yourself. This scenario however, is not practical for everyone. Buying a pre cut tree is the most common thing to do and it's absolutely fine. What you will need to do however, is take very good care of this tree in order to keep it lovely and green throughout the whole of the Christmas season. So without further a dew here are our tips in order to achieve this:

Choose a location with plenty of space – A corner is ideal due to the lower likelihood of it getting knocked over or banged.

Make sure there is no direct heat hitting the tree as this will dry it out very quickly.

When it comes to mounting the tree, cut about half an inch from the bottom, this will aid water absorption.

Make sure you mount and water your tree within 8 hours of cutting.

On the first day you will need to give the tree plenty of water as it sets in. Approx 3.7 litres.

Ensure you water your tree daily.

Many people say mixing water with asprin or 7up helps keep their tree fresh but honestly, plenty of water is all you need. Remember a well-watered tree will loose fewer needles, which is a huge plus!

Use a good tree stand- by good we mean one that holds plenty of water. Many people make the mistake of buying a cheap tree stand that holds just a small amount of water and this is the worst thing you can do!

So there we have it, all of our top tips to keep your tree green and healthy this year! if you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact us!!
