Northern Arizona University’s International Pavilion By RSP Architecture

Engage. At its core, that’s the mission of NAU Center of International Education. And that was the driver behind RSP’s design of this 10,000 square foot multi-purpose performance venue, classroom and student activity center. Translucent, backlit amber panels with unfamiliar words highlighted on them form the exterior. The untranslatable words are designed to inspire dialogue and serve as a welcoming symbol of respect and conversation.

This project acts as an educational and community facility to celebrate sustainable design and cultural diversity and to reflect the NAU Center for International Education’s mission as well as NAU’s sustainability goals as the first higher education building in Arizona to achieve NetZero energy use and LEED-NC Platinum status.
